Healthy Eating Research
Identifying effective policy and environmental strategies to prevent childhood obesity.
Building Evidence to Prevent Childhood Obesity
Childhood obesity is one of the most serious threats to the health of our nation. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, through its commitment to reversing the childhood obesity epidemic, has provided national leadership in efforts to achieve a healthy weight for all of our nation’s children, especially in lower-income communities and communities of color.
Healthy Eating Research: Building Evidence to Prevent Childhood Obesity supports research on environmental and policy strategies that have the greatest potential to improve healthy eating and weight patterns among children in order to prevent childhood obesity, especially among groups at highest risk for obesity: Black, Latino, American Indian, Asian/Pacific Islander children and children who live in lower-income communities.
The program is a collaboration between RWJF and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
