Catherine J. Malone
Program Officer
Catherine Malone works on the Foundation’s strategy to advance health equity, and enhance diversity and inclusion. She has led projects to identify and share diversity strategies to broaden program outreach to applicants from diverse backgrounds; highlighted the Foundation’s diversity efforts through an online community; and supported a network of diverse researchers from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups. She also leads the RWJF Awards for Health Equity program to recognize individuals who have successfully implemented systems change approaches to advance health equity. Cathy has been a member of the Foundation’s Diversity Committee since 2009, and has served as co-chair since 2014.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Cathy served as a healthcare professional and director in long-term care, assisted living, and hospital-based transitional care settings. She led therapeutic recreation program development, volunteer services, and community integration programs.
Cathy holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Argosy University. She received an MBA from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J., and a BA in psychology and sociology with a certificate in criminology from Rutgers University. Cathy was a LeadNJ fellow in the class of 2016.
