Kerry Anne McGeary
Deputy Director, Program
Kerry Anne McGeary joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in 2013. In her role, she directs and manages operations for the Foundation’s effort to ensure that families have the resources they need to foster healthy development from their child’s earliest years. She supervises a team of program associates, and oversees coordination with financial analysts and grants managers, to focus the program operations on ensuring that children and families are at the center of discussions about policies, systems, and supports that will help the next generation of children thrive. In reflecting on her work, Kerry Anne says that “we must create a seismic shift in how we approach health, how we invest in children and families, and how health should guide the decisions we make. As a country, we need to expand our focus to address ways that we can promote health over the course of our lifetimes and for generations to come.”
Earlier, Kerry Anne served as a senior program officer in the Foundation’s Research-Evaluation-Learning unit. In that role she contributed to RWJF’s significant investment in developing rigorous, timely, and actionable research. Her work included efforts to generate evidence and information that guided legislators and other policymakers, public agencies, educators, advocates, community groups, and individuals.
An award-winning professor and researcher, she is a nationally-recognized economist whose extensive research has focused on economic policy, health economics, and health services. Her research has informed and fueled deliberations both in Congress and in state legislatures.
